I couldn't help but notice while walking over the construction zone formerly know as the Burnside bridge.... The cement barriers and chain link fence reminded me- OF A PARTY!!! hell there was even a little sink station set up... When's the next time you think you'll be able to dance on a bridge??
I TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU. Lemme know when- and maybe I can pull some magic dj's outta my sleeve...

Re: BRIDGEJACKING ANYONE????
Tue, February 14, 2006 - 12:04 AMIt is not a matter of folks walking off the bridge as much as a matter of the Police busting the gathering. Flies on shit, if you know what I mean...
Now, underneath, at the skatepark... ~that~ might be do-able...

Re: BRIDGEJACKING ANYONE????
Sat, March 18, 2006 - 3:42 PMokay, it's feasable. however, where are you going to plug in? that's alot of extention cords and i think that the cops would have a point of contention if you are using someone's power. are there no trespassing signs? if so, i've not seen them. yeah, hell, let's do it. pick a sunday or something. umm. last thing, no booze. -

Re: BRIDGEJACKING ANYONE????
Sat, March 18, 2006 - 6:11 PMI have to say that while it ~could~ be done, it is a really bad idea. 1. you would be trespassing regardless if there is a sign saying such or not. 2. because there is a fence, you would also be breaking/entering into a construction site. 3. Police presence would be immediate due to constant patrols over the bridge. 4. the construction company would press charges were anyone caught. They're kinda funny that way. 5. I would expect that any equipment (sound, generator, turntables, etc. ) would be confiscated.
Sure, the above is a worst case senario but given the proximity to downtown and to cop shops, I feel it is pretty realistic. Conceptually, this is a great idea that would be a fantastic experience were it not to get busted. However, I think for it to be successful, it would need to be a permitted event rather than commando style. One possiblity might be to contact the construction company and see if they would be willing to allow the event to happen on their site. Highly unlikely due to insurance concerns but stranger things have happened.
Obviously, this is just my opinion...
