Hey, I'm working on scoping bars and getting a mobile sound system together to JACK A BAR. It used to be one of my favorite things to do and now that it's getting all cold outside, a sweet impromptu indoor party would be completely in order... I need to know if there is still support for this in town.
So! Sound off if you have some itchy dancing feet! I want to know if i set this up in the next few weeks, that there are enough people out there to make it awesome. It's just not worth doing if it's not awesome. Barjackings back in the day were something to look forward to, so start some buzz and I promise to deliver!

Who's got the baddest crew?
This is going to be a full-on, ninja squad vs. zombie cult vs. (whoever you are here...) non-harmful, tribal warfare based on the proceedures of the "unread/unwritten guide to intercommunal protocol and behavior."

Games follow these general guidelines:
Tribes make a flag with their own icon/symbol/insignia on both faces.
Flags are to be hung in a reachable public space frequented or facilitated by members of the tribe.
Every active member needs to carry 1 red sharpie and wear their tribal insignia.
Tagging an opponent with a red sharpie (anywhere on the opponent's skin or clothing) marks them as inactive for one full day.
Game ends when a tribe collects all flags from opposing tribes.
One flag can be taken at a time by each member.
If a tribes flag is taken, the only flag that tribe can seek is their own.
If a flag is taken, all tribes must be notified.
To win the game, a tribe must collect all flags within a week of obtaining their first flag

The crappy part is my camera is "OLD SKoOl" digital, like 2002! Yeah, freaking OLD! So my pictures came out dark. So, since a few days have past and no one has yet to post any, you will have to suffer with my crappy ones.

This camera has been dropped, thrown across the room, and swung on its rope on my wrist against the wall on my drunken...as I like to call them.."ADVENTURES"! It finally decided to take its toll that fun night at the DAILY PLANET! So here is what I have!

Next time I will be more responsible and have a designated photographer hold my camera and take pictures! ;p

This thread is for the real reviews of the barjacking for people who ACTUALLY attended this event.

So anyways...

I had a great time. As always I am worried wether or not we're going to have enough people, but this time I was worried we had too many people after sitting in the not so busy JR for over an hour watching people swarm in, and in, and all over, and outside. WHOA!

This was by far our most chaotic, crazy, over attended barjacking yet!

Yes the bars we had in mind (because we have to scope before we vote, or we won't know where to put turntables and shit) were all a bit far away, and that sucked. But we went out every night of the weeks leading up to the barjacking, to find the closest, large bars as possible.

So anyhow... it went quite smooth. The bartenders were into it... for a while anyway. I watched them go from dancing to pissed off while waiting for an hour and a half in the line for a drink. PRetty funny. It's too bad it couldn't have gone longer.

Those of you taking video and photos, please send them my way, call me or message me so we can chat. I am yet to get the old copies of all the other barjackings we have done.

Thanks to the djs! You guys rocked. A little bit too much 80's remakes for me, but that's okay. It was still fun. Paul I am sorry you didn't get to play. But you rocked it at the afterparty!

I had fun. Thanks to all who came and supported. We are trying hard to find closer bars, trust me. And those that are far away... we will eventually have some busses. But that's still alot of work ahead of us.

Thank you Carl! I love you! It was amazing as always.

As we went looking for one bar last night, we happend upon another, that turned out to be quite fantastic. Therefor... there will indeed be a Barjacking on Friday the 13th of January 2006, we have two bars in mind this time that rock, but it's up to you guys to choose.

Meet-up at the Jolly Roger (1340 SE 12th Ave off of Hawthorne) at 10:31PM, don't be late, because the Party Train leaves at 11pm sharp!

This is also a special Barjacking because it marks our TWO YEAR ANNIVERSAY of doing this event!

This is a FREE 21+ event

For those of you who do not know what the barjacking is:

-We gather a large group of people at a meet-up point (The Jolly Roger)
-We vote on a bar to go to (In this case we have two selections, both places rock equally!)
-We mob over to the selected bar, everyone rushes to the bar and orders drinks at the same time. (This is a distraction, so we can sneak in our sound system and turntables)
-Then we rock the funk out of that bar!

Out of the two years of doing this we have only had one bar freak out, but they let it go on anyways. They were just short on bartenders and had to call people in, so it was really not a big deal...
Most of the bars we have jacked, have thanked us greatly, and asked us to come back.

Why we do this?
-Our intentions are to make people have a great time together; to have fun!
-It's exciting not knowing the outcome
-Because we make a dive bar that doesn't get much money coming into them, a ton of money... and that's why we get away with it.... who wouldn't want all that money if you owned a business?

So be there at 10:31pm! And prepare to get funky!

shit, just now getting to post a review due to too much booze and lack of sleep. Thank you for everyone who came out and supported!!! I could only think of a couple people who should have been there but weren't. First off thank you Todd Hockney for throwing the show with me. Thank you Eric, Shylok, Noah, and anyone else who helped me hold down the door. I didn't really organize that part too well, better next time. Thank you Carl, Ian, and Paul for hooking the sound up proper. THAT SHIT WAS HITTIN!!! Thank you Shannon, Quickster, and Eric for always keeping a drink in my hand. Thank you Mason and Kem for the visuals and glad you could make it. Big ups to imaginationfoundation.org for the sick flyer design. Thank you Tyler for covering Evil Ones spot on such short notice. Thank you all the DJ's who played for free: The Bassist, Noah, Tom, Tyler and Roommate. Thanks to Alter Echo and Mike the 2600 kid your shit is amazing, check them out at the Spooky show??? I believe but I could be wrong on that. The man of the night was definately Infiltrata. I didn't get to see much of his set cause I was working the door, but everytime I went upstairs the place was jumpin so he had to be doing a good job . I was up there when he dropped Osirus and all I got to say is I WANT THAT SHIT sooo bad. I'm glad everyone had fun, the Viper Room is a nice venue with friendly staff and reasonable prices for a club.

Thank you to all of those who went to the last barjacking! I saw... once again... a whole lot of new faces. I almost thought we were going to be causing trouble at Katie O'Briens, but it all turned out well....

Okay... as I have said before (in letshavefun.tribe.net) Barjackings are going to be in a phone call, email only status.... no listings on nwtekno.org, or tribe.net for this event, due to the mass amounts of people that we already have as a fallowing... but don't be afraid to tell people you know... invites are by word of mouth only.

Already I have a pretty big list of emails/phone numbers to send out invites when the barjackings happen. Most the time (except the exception of the last minute stragglers) the invites and phone calls will be given on the Tuesday before the jacking happens.

This is a ONCE only invite in the email.... we will not spam your account, and we will not give your email address to anyone. It will be in mine and carls hands only!

So if you want to get an invite please message me your email, so I can add it to my list.

Right now we don't have any set dates for the next jacking, but they usually happen about a month and a half to two months apart.... This summer, we might even jack on a weekday.

Also, if you know any bars in Portland that are big enough to set up a sound system, and have about 120- 200 people in... please let us know, so that we can go scope it out. We could use all the help we can get locating bars like the past jacked bars (Toms, A&L, and Katie O'Briens).
